HERE Balloon is an ingenious idea but its lifespan is very short, it lasts only days until the helium gas in the balloon runs out.

How to make one that can last years? My solution is one that is made of plastics that hinged to the base with a spring. This device will be cheap to produce and will last for years. It will save millions of litres of petrol every tear.

Waste is Gold

Waste is Gold

Garbage Crisis in Italy and The Philippines and soon everywhere else

Garbage is a constant and present global crisis and will become much worse in the coming years if we do not do something drastic now. We are running out of landfills and resulting pollutions are killing us, literally. The miasma and leachate are a constant threat to the people near the landfills.
I have an idea that if implemented correctly will result in recycling 80 to 90 % of our waste and solve most of the environmental woes and turn it into a lucrative business.

The recycle rate is so low now because much of the waste are contaminated in the garbage bins, rendering them unfeasible or uneconomical to do so.
My idea is very simple: just mandate all homes and business to separate all garbage into:
  1. Uncontaminated dry garbage like paper, cardboard, bottle, plastic, electrical and electronics, metal etc, which can easily be reused or recycled.
  2. Wet biodegradable garbage like fruit skin, food waste, leaves, plants etc

The authority should provide two garbage bins of different colors. The green ones now in use should be for Wet Garbage only and a second one maybe in Blue or Red should be provided and be for dry garbage only. They should be clearly labeled.
To save cost, 2 to 3 households can share the bins since garbage will be less per bin if separated. The garbage should be collected in separate trucks to avoid contamination. Wet garbage should be collected daily. The dry garbage can be collected maybe twice a week since they are odorless and to save cost.
The dry garbage will go to a center for sorting and sold to respective factories and recycled. Some of the reusable can also be donated to charities or needies. We should be able to reuse or recycle over 95% of this garbage. It will be a big profit center.
The Wet Garbage will go to another center. They are 2 possible ways to deal with them.
  1. Use them to feed pigs or dogs and use the feces for fertilizers. Although the meat may not be palatable for human anymore, they can perhaps be fed to zoo animals.
  2. Another way is to compost them and sell the resulting fertilizers to gardener and farms. There are already many businesses like these operating in US and many countries using modern technology. They charge a fee for accepting the waste and sell the compost for profit!
The authorities can run the collection and the centers themselves or licence it to the private sector. Either way it can generate millions for the municipalities instead of unmitigated crisis at huge expenditure. And the authorities do not even have to charge for garbage collection if they choose to do so.

Presto! We have turned our biggest environmental disaster into a sustainable and great business! Instead of spending millions, we can be making millions annually. Let’s start now.

Easiest Way to Lose Weight

Simple and Easy Way to Lose Weight and be Healthy

Most weight loss and diet programs are very complicated and therefore most people will give up in a short time.

People are fat simply because the food calories they consume are more than the calories they burn. The only way to lose weight is to either burn more calorie or eat less. The average man and woman need about 2500 and 2000 calories per day respectively. You just need to eat 5% to 10% less and/or workout 5% more consistently to achieve your weight goal.

1. Less Sugar

The average adult consumes about 160 gm of sugar per day, which is about 640 calories. Which means up to 25% of calorie intake. Sugar not only makes you fat, it is also bad for your teeth and the main cause of diseases like diabetes and so on. You can easy half your sugar intake by avoiding sugary drink and sweet food. You will soon find yourself hating the taste of sugar.

2. Light Lunch

If have a hearty breakfast, it should be easy for you to get by with a light lunch like banana, salad, sandwich or bread. This can cut a further 300 calories from your daily intake. And you are free to eat as much as you want during breakfast and dinner.

3. Walk

Take a daily 30 to 60 minutes brisk walk. Walking is the best exercise for most people, and it is free and can be done almost anywhere or anytime.

There you have it, the simplest and easiest weight loss program in the world! Try it out and let me know the result!

Tank Drip Irrigation

A large container is placed next to a plant like oil palm, durian or rubber at a higher level than the ground. A pipe will water the tree at a rate that can be adjusted. It should last 2 to 4 weeks and also fertilizer can be added to the water.

Studies have shown that drip irrigation can increase yield tremendously. It is also less labor intensive.

Pay It Forward Scholarship

Pay It Forward Scholarship PIFS

The high cost of tertiary education has made it unaffordable to most people without a student loan or scholarship. Many fresh graduates are burdened with high students loan debt and have to pay a big portion of their income to settle it.

The receivers of PIFS will pledge to pay back 10% of their future earning for 20 years. Which then can fund more PIFS. It will be a gift that keep on giving.

People with a bachelor’s degree make 84% more over a lifetime than high school graduates.

If the average income of a PIF Scholar is $100,000, 10% over 20 years will be $200,000. The amount can be substantially more if just a few become CEOs of big corporation or found a successful company.

  • All applications will be made online.
  • All funds will be paid directly to University.
  • PIF Scholars will post their progress online periodically
  • All transactions to be posted online.

The PIFS will need a large initial fund to start of and will be self funded thereafter.

Square Can

Square Can
To help save environment

If all cans are are made in rectangular instead of circular shape, they will occupy about 20% less space when packed in box. Thereby saving 10% or more on material, fuel, shipping and storage cost, which can run into billions of dollars annually.

Workout TV

Workout TV

Watching TV can be very hazardous to your health, studies have shown that people who watch TV for more than 3 hours a day can dramatically shorten their life expectancy.

My invention, Workout TV, is a stationary bike when paddled, will charge a battery, which is then connected to a TV. One hour of paddling should be enough to power the TV for 1 to 2 hours.

Most people who buy exercise machines give up after a while. It will make sure that one has to exercise before they get to watch their favourite shows, help saving the environment at the same time.

Malaysia Roadshow

Malaysia Roadshow

An excellent way to promote our country is to organize and hold Fairs or Roadshows in major cities all over the world.

It should be organized by Tourism Ministry with active participation from the private sectors. We can showcase:

  • Malaysian food
  • Artifacts
  • Dance
  • History and Culture
  • Places of interest
  • Manufactured Products
  • Investment Opportunities
  • Malaysia My Second Home
  • Festival

Malaysia is a relatively small and unknown country although we have so much to offer to tourists. We can gain exposure by bringing the best of Malaysia to them. We may even make a profit doing it!

One Piece TShirt

One Piece TShirt

TShirts are usually made from a few pieces of cut cloth sewn together. It is very labor intensive and incurs high wastage as the cut cloth are of irregular shapes.

Socks and stockings are made in one piece from stitching machines. Why don’t we use the machines to make one piece TShirt? It will require a bigger machine but the technology is the same. It will eliminate me wastage completely and save a lot of manual labor. Thereby reducing the cost dramatically.

The One Piece TShirt will have no seams and can be comfortably worn both ways. Design can be stitched-in thus also requires no printing. Computerized Machines can be placed in shops and make bespoke TShirt on the spot. WOW!

Making Everyone a Default Organ Donor by Law

Making Everyone a Default Organ Donor by Law

What if we make it a law that everyone is a donor by default and those who do not wish to be one can opt out by registering their objection on their identity card.

Most people are willing to be an organ donor but don’t know how and where to register as one.

Millions of people are waiting in line for organ transplant that can improve or save their lives. But sadly most will wait in vain for lack of donors.

In one simple move 99% of us will become organ donors! Millions of lives will be saved and made better by this simple idea. Let's not waste any more time!

Unique Address Number - UAN

Unique Address Number - UAN

If each house, shop or property has a unique address number, UAN, it can do away with long and sometime confusing addresses.

I propose that the number be made up of:

  • 3 digit country code, as per country telephone prefix
  • 5 digit Postcode
  • 5 digit address code

Thus a typical address in Penang, Malaysia:

488E-25-04, Midlands Condo,
Burmah Road,
Pulau Tikus,
10350 Penang

will be represented by:

And can be easily be encoded into barcode using one of the many barcode generator available online.

Letters with UAN can easily and speedily be read and sorted by scanning machines. This will increase efficiency and lessen mistakes, potentially saving billions of dollars a year.

An address can also be easily located on online maps if databases are uploaded.

What do you think? All comments welcome.

JNail- A Better Nail?

Jagged Nail (JNail)

The humble nail has been in use for probably thousands of years and its design has remain more or less the same.

Nails or screws used to fasten wood will loosen after some time especially when they are being constantly shaken or moved, shortening the lifespan of furniture or building, and may even cause fatal accidents.

My invention, JNail, has hook shaped gaps built in as shown in the diagram.

Wood will expand to fill the gaps in JNail thereby providing a firm grip and prevent it from getting loose. Furniture, pallet or building using Hooked Nail will be stronger and last much longer than traditional nail or screw.

Someday all nails or woods screw will be made this way.

Solar Water Machine - SWM

Solar Water Machine - SWM

There are many ready made Water from Air Machines using condensation to produce drinking water from the air. The idea is to power it using solar panel. Electricity generated from solar panels is expensive to store but SWM will use all electricity to generate water. The solar panel can also be used as electric generator.

There are no insurmountable difficulty, just find suitable Air To Water Machine and Solar Panel System and plug them together. Voila!

The water produced are almost pure and fit for human consumption.

Many small tropical islands have to depend on imported water making it very expensive and also very environmentally unfriendly. Most islands are sunny and humid as they are surrounded by sea, making them ideal for SWM. They can now be self sufficient in water and electricity. It can also make many islands and remote areas hospitable.

It will also be ideal for use in ships and coastal area where potable water and electricity is scarce, especially small islands, remote villages, coastal desert etc. Best of all they are almost free to operate as no fuel is needed. It can be a lifesaver for many.

Anyone interested in commercializing this idea?
